The annual fee allows for unlimited inspections if required due to changing tenancies. Once the annual fee is paid We will attend the property as many times required through the year at no extra cost to the owner.
South Coast Smoke Alarms will protect the Property Agent by adhering to the requirements of The Fire and Rescue Service Amendment Act 2006 has been law since July 1st 2007
- Ensure the correct number of Fire Alarms are installed at the property and meet the Australian Standards
- Ensure they are installed correctly as per the Building Code of Australia Part 3.7.2.3
- Test and clean each smoke alarm within 30 days of the start of a tenancy, including renewals.
- Ensure the smoke alarm is replaced prior to the end of its life. A registry maintained to ensure each alarm is expiry date logged. Smoke alarms only have a life span of 10 years.
- The annual fee allows for unlimited inspections if required due to changing tenancies.
The fee is payable by the owner and is fully tax deductable!

South Coast Smoke Alarms will work directly with Property Managers to ensure inspections happen as smooth as possible. WHY Take the risk of undertaking this service in house when Property Managers and Real Estate Agents have been warned by their insurance providers that their cover is not extended for this risk.
Implementation Process for a New Property Owner
South Coast Smoke Alarms will undertake the following steps to ensure a new Property Manager can effectively implement a Fire Alarm Program.
- Work with Property Manager to identify PRIORITY INSPECTIONS.
- Communicate to the Owner the implementation of a Annual Smoke Alarm program. Advising the reason why the Property Manager is implementing the inspections – meet Regulatory Requirements and reduce the risks on them self, the owner for non compliance.
